LOCAL Public Eatery River District

The ambiance is my vibe. Took my friends out here because I heard good things about it. I think the highlight of our dining experience is Nat’s exceptional service. She always had a bright smile and in a perky mood. Always checked up on us as well. We don’t often see that as much anymore. Keep this gem!

My wife and I recently dined at Local, and we had an excellent experience thanks in large part to our server, Winnie. From the moment we were seated, she was attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. She took the time to walk us through the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Winnie struck the right balance of professionalism and friendliness, we never felt rushed, and yet our needs were always anticipated. It’s rare to find service this consistent and sincere. Kudos to the management for having someone like Winnie on the team. She truly elevated our evening, and we’ll definitely be back because of it. J

She struck the perfect balance between being attentive and giving us space to enjoy our meal. What really stood out was her natural kindness and calm efficiency, even during a busy service. It’s rare to find someone who brings both heart and skill to their work the way Winnie does. She turned an ordinary night out into something memorable. I had such a lovely dining experience at this restaurant. I've always wanted to try it and I finally did last week. We went for Happy Hour and sat on the patio. We ordered the Fried Chicken with Hot Honey, Tacos and Naan and Curry dip for our appies. We also had their sangria. For my main I had their poke bowl. Everything was delicious and fresh. They even gave us their tea shots to try. Service was very friendly and attentive. I will definitely come back to try the rest of their menu and enjoy the patio. Though I would definitely go back for their fried chicken and poke bowl. I highly recommend this restaurant!

We had such a great time at The Local in River District. The atmosphere is so relaxed and welcoming. Nat was our server and made everything so easy and enjoyable. Super friendly and attentive the whole time. They were also amazing with our dog Theo, bringing out water for him right away and making sure he was comfortable. It was such a nice touch. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area. We’ll be back for sure.

Local public eatery is one of my go to places living in River District. The staff there are amazing and the food atmosphere and happy hour value is unrivaled. Natalia has always gone over and above to make myself and our party, always feel welcomed and well served. Her customer service along with others on the team are a big reason why I consistently choose local whether it’s Birthdays, celebrations Or just grabbing lunch.

21/04/2025: I was here with my mother for happy hour and grabbing late lunch. It was her first visit as she has always been curious about LPE River District whenever she passes by the River District neighbourhood while I, myself, have been to LPE River District a few times before. We were having a wonderful time dining in. The food and drinks we ordered were amazing, staff at LPE River District were hospitable and our server Magnus who was patient and knowledgeable, provided outstanding service! I am more than happy to recommend LPE River District to friends and family members. I also want to mention that I am obsessed with the Sassy Sangria Crush and Aperol Crush cocktails in my previous visits. :)

I want to give it 4 stars due to the lack of vegetarian dishes.. however the service we received from Dustin was amazing. He was thoughtful, courteous, he refilled our water without being asked and my husband came later since he was looking after my baby and Dustin automatically changed the coffee as it has gotten cold. For his great service, I gave it a five! I would love to come more often, but as a vegetarian the options are extremely limited.. I hope one day there are a couple more vegetarian options! I would definitely come more. We came for brunch and they have recently revamped the menu.
